Frequently Asked Question

Capture management is the process of creating a plan, managing a team of professionals, and executing win strategies to capture opportunities with long sales cycles. This is often associated with government contracting or large enterprise sales.

A Capture Manager is the person who leads the sales and capture management process of an organization. The capture manager creates a capture plan, sources out the opportunities, qualify the opportunities, evaluates the likelihood of success, develops a win strategy, supports the marketing team, engages key teaming partners, fosters winning relationships, facilitates the proposal strategy/proposal process, guides the development of the pricing strategy, closes the deal and turns the win over to the fulfillment team to perform on the contract.

We understand that “life happens” and you may need a refund on fees paid for services to GCA.
We try to be fair, and to use a policy that is a win-win for both parties.

Digital Products/Software:
GCA’s digital products and software are knowledge-based offerings. We typically do not offer
refunds for these products, because, once you have accessed the knowledge, you are unable to
return it wholly to us.

Events:
You may cancel your event registration up to 24 hours before the class begins and request to
receive a full refund. If cancellation is made less than 24 before the start of the event, you will
receive a credit to attend a subsequent event. The credit must be used within 180 days.

Training Programs:
You may cancel your class up to 24 hours before the class begins and request to receive a full
refund. If cancellation is made less than 24 before the start of your class, you will receive a
credit to reschedule for an upcoming class. The credit must be used within 180 days.
Refunds are not provided for multi-session classes after they begin. If for some reason a
student is unable to complete a series of classes due to unforeseen circumstances, the student
will receive a credit to take part in a subsequent training cohort. The credit must be used
within 180 days.

Services:
In general, you can request a prorated refund for services prior to work completing up to 6
months after payment. Refunds will be given using the same method used to make the
payment. A full refund is available if requested before work begins.

We start a new cohort about every two months. Specific dates are available on our website.

We host alternating classes or cohorts. Depending on which cohort you enroll in, it can either be Tuesday 6pm-8pm EST or Thursday 6pm-8pm EST. All times listed are in Eastern Standard Time Zone.

Lab Sessions are held each Wednesday at 1pm EST for one hour. We cover a different topic each week and this is your time to get additional support. Check our event page for the weekly topics: www.govevent.com

Yes, we record every session for review purposes. Check with your coach or study partner for the replay/recording.

The CCM program is very fast paced. We take 3 years of knowledge and compact this information into 15 weeks of training. There are 12 weeks of instructor led classes and 3 additional sessions (GovBootCamp week, Exam week, and Graduation week). Missing class will put you behind. If you do miss a session, you can make it up by watching the recorded lessons. You are only allowed to miss 2 sessions. If you miss a third session, you will not qualify to take the CCM Exam. You will have to make up the missed class in a future cohort to qualify for the exam. This will delay your graduation by a few months.

Lab Sessions are important to assist in your understanding of capture management. You are required to attend 6 total lab sessions. There are specific labs which you must attend. Please check with your coach to see which lab sessions are required for graduation.

To keep your CCM certification active, you must meet two key requirements:

– Maintain an activer membership in the Capture Management Institute or Government Contractors Association

– Maintain 20 approved CEU/CPE credits every two years

See the Certification page to learn more details.
